Chillicothe Police Respond to Multiple Incidents Including Sex Offense, Drug Warrants

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a wide range of incidents across the city on Feb. 20, according to its daily media report.

Among the most serious cases, officers were dispatched around 3:14 p.m. to the 1000 block of Columbus Street in reference to a reported rape. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Detectives also executed two search warrants Thursday evening. One warrant was served on Stoney Creek Road in connection with allegations including tampering with evidence and an active warrant. A second warrant was carried out on Three Locks Road, where authorities are investigating possession of Schedule I or II controlled substances.

Earlier in the day, officers responded to a domestic violence complaint at the Law Enforcement Complex on Grand Avenue. Another domestic-related incident was reported around midday on Jackson Avenue. Both cases remain under investigation.

Police also investigated several traffic-related incidents, including a crash involving failure to yield while making a left turn and a separate crash on South Paint Street. Officers conducted multiple traffic stops throughout the day, issuing citations for violations including driving under suspension and fictitious license plates.

Other calls for service included a reported theft on River Trace Lane, a criminal trespass complaint at Murphy’s Gas Station on River Trace Lane, a juvenile complaint on West M.L. Trotter Drive, and a disturbance on East Main and Watt streets.

In addition, officers made an arrest overnight on Mill Street in connection with a missing persons report and curfew violation. Another early-morning traffic stop on Jackson Avenue resulted in charges of obstructing official business, a warrant, and fugitive from justice.

In total, the department logged 18 reports on Feb. 20. Several investigations remain ongoing.
