
PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio —
Update 2 – A suspect was taken into custody, lockdown has been reduced. A Suspect was caught at Sheetz in Circleville, but it was deemed to be another incident that involved the men’s shelter, not the incident at OCU.
Ohio Christian University was placed on lockdown Friday evening after a suspect reportedly flashed a handgun at a campus security guard and fled into nearby woods.
According to early reports, the incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. A campus security officer encountered an unidentified individual in a wooded area adjacent to campus property. The individual reportedly displayed a firearm before fleeing toward nearby woods.

Authorities said the individual was described as wearing a black-and-white hoodie and a ball cap. He was last seen heading into wooded areas surrounding the campus.
Law enforcement agencies responded to the scene and established a perimeter around the university. Officers requested additional resources, including K-9 units and a helicopter, as they searched for the suspect.
At this time, the suspect has not been located. He is described as:
White male
Approximately 6 feet tall
180–200 pounds
Wearing a red and purple sweatshirt and a baseball cap
Believed to be armed with a silver semi auto handgun.
