
The Circleville Police Department responded to 126 calls for service between Feb. 13 and Feb. 16, handling a wide range of incidents including injury crashes, domestic disputes, thefts and multiple arrests.
Traffic Enforcement and Crashes
Officers conducted numerous traffic stops throughout the weekend, issuing several warnings and citations. One stop on East Main Street late Sunday night resulted in an arrest. Additional warnings were issued on Northridge Road, East Ohio Street, Lancaster Pike, South Washington Street, Garden Parkway and East Main Street.
Police investigated multiple crashes during the reporting period. A non-injury accident was reported Friday morning on North Pickaway Street. Injury crashes were reported Saturday on Main Street and later on Northridge Road, where a citation was issued and emergency medical personnel responded. Another traffic offense report was taken Monday afternoon on East Main Street.
Traffic details were also conducted several times along North Court Street.
Domestic Incidents and Assaults
Officers responded to several domestic-related calls over the weekend. Reports were taken on Highland Avenue, East High Street and again later on Highland Avenue. Another domestic disturbance on East Ohio Street did not result in a report.
An assault was reported Friday evening on Pontious Lane, and a fight was reported early Sunday morning on West Main Street.
Theft, Stolen Vehicle and Trespassing
A stolen vehicle was reported Saturday afternoon on South Court Street. Police also responded to a theft complaint Sunday on Watt Street and a trespassing complaint Saturday evening on Ray Avenue, with a report taken in that case.
Well-Being Checks and Mental Health Calls
Police conducted numerous well-being checks across the city, including calls involving suicide threats on East Union Street and welfare concerns on Nicholas Drive, Mingo Street, North Pickaway Street and Elm Avenue. In two instances, individuals were transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Alarms, Suspicious Activity and Other Calls
Officers handled multiple alarm drops at businesses and residences, most of which were determined to be accidental or checked OK. Several suspicious person complaints were reported on South Court Street, South Scioto Street and Chatham Court, though some callers canceled before officers arrived.
Police also responded to:
- A drunk driver complaint on Lancaster Pike
- A disabled vehicle on North Court Street
- A vehicle lockout on Atwater Avenue
- Property damage on East Mill Street
- A natural gas or electric complaint on Highland Avenue
- Multiple 911 hang-up calls, with officers either obtaining information or checking the area
Throughout the weekend, officers conducted extra patrols and business checks across several neighborhoods, particularly during overnight hours.
Authorities continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activity and to contact dispatch for emergencies or non-emergency assistance as needed.
