Circleville police officers responded to approximately 100 calls for service between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8, according to a department media report released Monday. The calls ranged from traffic stops and patrol checks to arrests, theft investigations, and domestic-related incidents.
During the early morning hours of Feb. 6, officers conducted numerous extra patrols across residential areas, including East Main Street, Clark Drive, Springhollow Road, and Hayward Avenue. Most of those patrols concluded without incident. That same morning, officers made an arrest following a well-being check on South Court Street.
Police also handled several traffic-related incidents throughout the reporting period, including multiple non-injury crashes and hit-skip accidents on streets such as South Court Street, West Mill Street, North Court Street, and U.S. 23. Numerous traffic stops resulted in warnings, while a smaller number led to citations.
Several thefts were reported during the three-day span, including incidents on Rustic Court and Huston Street. Officers also responded to reports of found property, suspicious persons, trespassing, and neighbor disputes, many of which were resolved at the scene without further action.
On Feb. 7 and Feb. 8, officers responded to multiple disturbance calls, including reports of fights, threats or harassment, and domestic trouble. At least one arrest was made following a fight on North Court Street early Feb. 8. Another arrest occurred later that night after officers responded to a disabled vehicle on East Main Street.
Police also handled several 911 hang-up calls and accidental emergency calls, all of which were checked and determined to be non-emergencies. In addition, officers assisted other agencies with mutual aid requests related to fire calls and drunk driving reports.
Circleville police continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activity and emergencies promptly and to use non-emergency lines when appropriate.
