Chillicothe Police Investigate Traffic, Theft, and Disorderly Conduct Calls on Feb. 2

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe police officers responded to a series of incidents across the city on Monday, February 2, ranging from traffic violations and theft investigations to disorderly conduct and drug-related cases, according to the department’s daily media report.

Just after 8:20 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near Mulberry Street and East 2nd Street, leading to charges related to driving under suspension tied to child support and unpaid fines, along with operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.

Later in the morning, police were dispatched to the Law Enforcement Complex on North Bridge Street in reference to a reported scam involving theft by threat. The investigation into the alleged larceny remains ongoing.

Around 1:04 p.m., officers responded to a complaint at a residence on Hardin Drive, where an investigation is continuing. Additional complaints followed throughout the afternoon, including a disorderly conduct call at a residence on North Rose Street.

At approximately 3:39 p.m., Chillicothe officers coordinated with the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office in Londonderry to take a woman with an active Chillicothe Police Department warrant into custody. She was transported to the Ross County Jail without further incident.

Police later responded to reports of telecommunications harassment, stemming from threats reportedly made at Sherman Park, with officers dispatched to a business on North Bridge Street as part of the investigation. That case remains under review.

Other incidents included a criminal trespass complaint on East 5th Street, where multiple individuals were reportedly found on the premises of a vacant property without permission.

In the evening hours, a detective opened an investigation into drug trafficking involving the sale or offer to sell drugs in Ross County, tied to activity reported on North Paint Street.

Police also assisted the Ross County Sheriff’s Office with a disorderly conduct call on Western Avenue, securing the scene before turning the matter over to deputies.

The day concluded with officers responding to a noise complaint on Clay Street, classified as a nuisance condition. That investigation is ongoing.

In total, Chillicothe police documented 10 reports on February 2.
