CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Circleville police officers handled a wide range of calls throughout the day on Sunday, February 2, responding to traffic stops, accidents, alarms, and multiple 911 hang-up calls, according to the department’s daily call-for-service report.

Officers began the day just after midnight with a mutual aid request for a fire on Tarlton Road, which was canceled before units arrived. Several 911 hang-up calls were reported overnight and throughout the day on streets including East Main Street, Highland Avenue, Island Road, Lancaster Pike, Alma Avenue, Douglas Drive, and South Pickaway Street. In most cases, officers checked the areas and reported no issues.

Police conducted numerous extra patrols and business checks across the city, including on East Main Street, East Union Street, Clark Drive, Springhollow Road, North Scioto Street, and North Court Street, all of which were cleared without incident.

Several traffic-related incidents were reported during the day. Officers responded to multiple non-injury accidents, including on U.S. Route 22 West, Pontious Lane, and Lancaster Pike, with at least one citation issued and one accident report taken. An injury accident earlier in the morning resulted in a request for mutual aid, but that call was also canceled prior to arrival.

Police issued multiple traffic citations and warnings throughout the day on roads such as North Court Street, U.S. Route 23, South Pickaway Street, South Court Street, and North Pickaway Street. Traffic details were also conducted and cleared on North Court Street.

Other notable calls included a parking complaint on East Mound Street, well-being checks on Edgewood Drive and East Mound Street, a natural gas or electric issue on Logan Street, and a noise complaint on East Ohio Street, which did not result in a report.

Police also took reports related to fraud on Northfield Drive, including one call that was canceled and another where a report was taken. A civil complaint involving trespassing was reported on South Court Street, and officers later responded to a call involving a homeless person in the same area, though no report was filed.

Fire-related calls occurred throughout the day, including reports on East Corwin Street and Huston Street, both of which were cleared without further incident.

The day concluded with a disabled vehicle report on Walnut Creek Pike, which officers checked and cleared.

In total, Circleville police responded to 48 calls for service on February 2.
