CHILLICOTHE — Chillicothe police officers handled a series of incidents across the city on Tuesday, December 30, ranging from an alleged impaired-driving crash to theft investigations and multiple arrests, according to the department’s daily media report.

Shortly after midnight, officers encountered a vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a crash on West 5th Street. A male was found inside the vehicle, and the incident was investigated as a failure to control and operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) case. The investigation remains ongoing.

Later in the morning, officers were dispatched to East Water Street in reference to a possible deceased individual. The call was categorized as non-criminal, and the matter remains under investigation. Police also responded to a civil dispute on Liberty Street later that morning.

Several theft complaints were reported throughout the day, including one with consent-related concerns and another involving a theft in progress at Walmart on River Trace Lane. Those cases are still under investigation.

Police also responded to multiple disorderly conduct incidents, including calls on Sycamore Street and Vine Street, the latter involving a reported domestic dispute. Both cases remain under review.

Traffic-related incidents included a reported assured clear distance ahead crash and another crash involving a failure to yield at a stop sign, with a separate crash report completed.

Officers made at least two arrests on outstanding warrants. One arrest occurred on South Watt Street, where officers located a male with an active warrant. Another individual, identified as Marland Price, was served with a capias warrant for a probation violation related to a theft charge after being transported to the Ross County Jail by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Price is being held in lieu of bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 2, 2026.

In total, 11 incidents were documented by the Chillicothe Police Department on December 30. Several investigations remain ongoing.
