Chillicothe Police Respond to 18 Calls on Christmas Day

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe Police officers handled 18 reported incidents on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2025, ranging from domestic violence calls and disorderly conduct to traffic crashes and warrant-related contacts, according to the department’s daily media report released Dec. 26.

The first incident of the day was reported at 1:14 a.m., when an officer was flagged down near 61 N. Bridge St. by a bystander who reported witnessing a domestic violence incident. The case remains under investigation.

Shortly afterward, at 1:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to 202 E. Fifth St. for a vehicle crash involving failure to control, followed by a warrant-related citizen contact on North Bridge Street just after 2 a.m.

Later in the morning, police responded to a disorderly conduct call on East Fourth Street that was initially reported as a possible domestic violence situation. Additional traffic enforcement included a marked lanes violation later in the morning.

At 10:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to 142 Park St. in reference to damage to a vehicle, which was determined to be a non-criminal incident.

Midday calls included a criminal trespass complaint on Fruithill Drive, a public indecency complaint on West Fifth Street, and a disorderly conduct incident on Jefferson Avenue. Officers also responded to a report of an unruly juvenile on West Seventh Street.

During the afternoon hours, police handled a telecommunications harassment complaint at an apartment on Fairway Avenue, followed by a domestic violence call in the same area. Additional domestic-related disorderly conduct calls were reported on West Fifth Street, Sherman Park, and Plyleys Lane. One of those incidents resulted in a report being taken with no criminal charges filed.

The evening concluded with a traffic crash involving failure to control on Yaples Orchard Drive, and multiple disorderly conduct calls on Vine Street, Sharon Road, and other locations late into the night.

Many of the incidents reported on Christmas Day remain under investigation.
