
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe police officers responded to a wide range of incidents across the city on Monday, Dec. 22, according to the department’s daily media report.
Shortly after midnight, officers initiated a traffic stop involving a Nissan sedan, which resulted in an ongoing investigation related to a driver’s license suspension and an outstanding warrant.
Later in the morning, police took a crash report on Western Avenue involving a right-of-way violation while turning left. No serious injuries were reported.
Around midday, officers were notified by Circleville Police of a complaint involving a Pickaway County MRDD client. The information, which involved alleged misconduct by a caretaker, was forwarded to the appropriate agency for further investigation and was classified as a non-criminal report by Chillicothe police.
Throughout the afternoon, officers responded to several theft-related calls, including reported shoplifting incidents on River Trace Lane and North Bridge Street, as well as theft complaints on East Fourth Street and Pohlman Road. Investigations in those cases are ongoing.
Police and emergency responders were also dispatched to South Renick Avenue for a reported drug overdose. The incident remains under investigation.
Additional calls included a disorderly conduct complaint on Adams Avenue, multiple motor vehicle crashes on Western Avenue and East Water Street, a report of a stolen vehicle on North Paint Street, and a reckless driver complaint near Bridge Street and Second Street.
In the early evening, officers traveled to Fairfield County to take a male suspect into custody on two active Chillicothe Police Department warrants. The individual was transported to the Ross County Jail without incident.
The day concluded with officers responding to a domestic-related criminal trespass complaint on South Walnut Street.
Police noted that several cases remain under investigation, and no further information was immediately available.
