
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department released its daily media report detailing a range of incidents investigated across the city on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, including arrests on outstanding warrants, disorderly conduct complaints, traffic-related offenses, and impaired driving arrests.
According to the report, officers initiated a traffic stop shortly after midnight near Sherman Park that resulted in an arrest on an outstanding warrant. Just before 1 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Western Avenue and Locust Street for a vehicle crash, with the investigation still ongoing.
Officers also conducted several welfare and non-criminal checks throughout the early morning hours, including a welfare check on Delano Avenue and a trespassing-related complaint on Adams Avenue.
At approximately 2:45 a.m., police responded to a fight on North Poplar Street involving harassment by an inmate, which resulted in an arrest. Later that morning, officers were called to Vine Street for an active domestic disturbance. That investigation remains ongoing.
Throughout the day, multiple disorderly conduct and trespassing complaints were reported, including incidents at a McDonald’s and a Par Mar/Amoco store on North Bridge Street. Police also responded to a private-property hit-skip crash in the Chillicothe Mall parking lot near Champs, where a report was taken.
One notable safety-related incident occurred when officers located children in a roadway, resulting in an endangering children report. In another traffic stop, a driver was cited for driving while texting after nearly striking a marked patrol cruiser near East Seventh Street. Officers reported the driver admitted to looking at a work-related text message at the time of the incident.
Later in the evening, officers arrested a female driver for operating a vehicle under the influence after responding to reports of a reckless driver entering the city from State Route 772 onto South Paint Street. The driver’s blood-alcohol level was reported to be at least .08 but less than .17.
In total, Chillicothe police documented 14 incidents in the Dec. 20 daily media report. Several investigations remain ongoing.
Police remind the public that individuals charged or cited are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
