
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a wide range of incidents across the city on Thursday, December 18, according to the department’s daily media report, with cases ranging from an overdose call and traffic crashes to thefts, disorderly conduct complaints, and hit-skip investigations.
Shortly after midnight, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Paint Street in response to a reported drug overdose. The incident was classified as non-criminal, and details surrounding the individual’s condition were not released.
Throughout the morning and afternoon, officers investigated several traffic-related incidents. Vehicles were towed from Eastern Avenue, North Mulberry Street, and other locations for issues including expired license plates and excessive parking. Around 1 p.m., officers responded to a crash on North Bridge Street involving a failure to yield while making a left turn, with the investigation continuing.
Police also responded to multiple theft and vandalism complaints during the day. A report of vandalism on Iroquois Lane prompted an investigation, while later in the morning officers took a report of stolen jewelry from a porch near North High Street and Anderson Station Road. An attempted theft was also reported on Sharon Road.
Several disorderly conduct and threat-related calls were logged, including incidents near Clay Street and Orange Street and at other locations across the city. Officers assisted emergency medical services on River Trace Lane during the afternoon.
In the late afternoon, a crash on Western Avenue resulted in a citation for assured clear distance ahead after one vehicle struck another that was stopped in traffic. Additional investigations included reports of receiving stolen property on South Brownell Street, criminal mischief complaints, and multiple hit-skip crashes on South Walnut Street and North Bridge Street.
