
ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A serious crash in Ross County has left multiple people with critical injuries and prompted a large emergency response today, according to early reports from the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 35 near Old U.S. 35, just outside the village of Richmond Dale. Emergency crews have completely shut down the highway in the area as first responders work to treat victims and secure the scene.
Due to the severity of the crash, with reports of several that were thrown from the car, that were multiple medical helicopters have been requested to transport injured individuals to area hospitals. Several additional fire and EMS units from neighboring agencies have also been called in to assist with patient care.
Authorities have not yet released details on how many vehicles were involved or the exact number of people injured. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is expected to investigate the crash.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes as the roadway is expected to remain closed for an extended period.
