CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a wide range of calls throughout the city on December 16, according to the department’s daily media report, with incidents ranging from traffic crashes and warrants to thefts and disorderly conduct.
Early in the morning, officers served a warrant at the Ross County Jail. Later in the day, several traffic-related incidents were reported, including multiple assured clear distance ahead crashes. One crash on East Main Street near Bridge Street resulted in a citation after a driver failed to stop for traffic and struck a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light. No serious injuries were reported.
Police also investigated multiple criminal mischief complaints, including reports of property damage on West Main Street and North Paint Street. Several of those investigations remain ongoing.
Additional calls for service included a domestic dispute, an abandoned vehicle complaint, and a non-criminal incident at the Social Security Administration office on Stoneridge Drive. Officers were also dispatched to a trespassing complaint on West Main Street and a report of juveniles fighting on East Seventh Street.
The department handled several theft-related cases throughout the day, including a reported larceny on North Rose Street and a shoplifting complaint at a business on River Trace Lane. Disorderly conduct related to a noise complaint was also reported on South Walnut Street.
Later in the evening, officers began an investigation into a reported violation of a protection order along Yoctangee Parkway. That case remains under investigation.
Chillicothe Police say several incidents from the day are still being reviewed and remind residents to report suspicious activity promptly.
