
CHILLICOTHE — Trooper Haley K.L. Shreck of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has been selected as the Jackson District Trooper of the Year, earning top honors after first being chosen by her peers as the Chillicothe Post Trooper of the Year.
Following her post-level recognition, Trooper Shreck completed an interview process with district leadership and was selected to represent the entire Jackson District, which includes patrol posts in Athens, Chillicothe, Gallipolis, Ironton, Jackson, and Portsmouth. She is now a finalist for the statewide Trooper of the Year award, which will be announced at a later date.
Trooper Shreck, 29, was recognized for her exceptional service throughout 2025, including her strong work ethic, leadership skills, commitment to community engagement, and professionalism on and off duty. Her consistent performance has earned her multiple accolades in recent years, including the Criminal Patrol Award in 2024 and 2025, the ACE Award in 2022, 2024, and 2025, and Master Trooper recognition in 2025.

Shreck joined the Patrol in 2017 as part of the 162nd Academy Class. She has served at several posts across Ohio, including Springfield, Xenia, Wilmington, Batavia, and now Chillicothe. A graduate of Valley High School in Scioto County, she currently resides in Lithopolis.
