Chillicothe Police Respond to Series of Disturbances, Thefts, and Serious Assault Reports Monday

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe Police were kept busy throughout Monday, November 3, responding to a range of calls including thefts, disturbances, child endangerment, and a reported sexual assault, according to the department’s daily media log.

Officers began their day around 4:30 a.m. when they were dispatched to West Water Street for a disturbance involving a warrant. Just over an hour later, police were flagged down about a trespassing complaint at 364 East Water Street. Both cases remain under investigation.

A series of disturbance calls followed across the city, including East Fifth Street, South Walnut Street, and Deerpath Drive, where one incident was reported as an assault.

Throughout the morning, officers conducted multiple traffic stops for speeding violations on Pohlman Road and West Fifth Street, and towed a vehicle for expired plates on Clay Street.

By mid-morning, officers were investigating a theft report on East Main Street and a scam complaint later in the day. Around 12:30 p.m., police were dispatched to Wetzel Drive for a report involving patient abuse and theft, followed by a child endangerment call at Poland Park, where a toddler was reportedly found alone.

In the afternoon, officers responded to Greenlawn Cemetery on Eastern Avenue for reports of suspicious activity, which led to charges of obstructing official business and illegal drug possession.

A custody issue on South Paint Street was resolved without incident, while officers also handled a threats complaint and aggravated menacing report involving a disturbance at Yoctangee Park later in the evening.

The most serious case of the day came around 8 p.m., when officers were dispatched to South Paint Street for a report of rape/sexual assault. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police also responded to a domestic dispute on South Mulberry Street shortly afterward.

In total, officers handled 21 incidents throughout the day.
