CHILLICOTHE, OH — Troopers from the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a dramatic single-vehicle commercial crash that occurred early Tuesday morning on U.S. Route 35 in Ross County.

The incident happened around 3:02 a.m. on October 22 near mile marker 108 in Union Township, when a 2025 Mack truck, driven by 25-year-old Herby Doriscat of Lima, veered off the westbound lanes of U.S. 35.

According to investigators, the truck left the left side of the highway and entered the grassy median before crossing into the eastbound lanes. The vehicle then returned to the median, driving between the bridge supports that span Kinnamon Lane below. It broke through a right-of-way fence and slid down an embankment before coming to rest beneath the bridge, with the trailer still attached.

Remarkably, no injuries were reported.

Recovery efforts lasted approximately 10 hours, with U.S. 35 reduced to one lane in each direction while crews worked to remove the truck and trailer from the scene.

The Ohio Department of Transportation assisted troopers with traffic control and cleanup efforts. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
