WESTERVILLE, Ohio (Oct. 20, 2025) — Move over, M&M’s — there’s a new Halloween favorite in Ohio. Kroger’s Columbus Division announced that Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins have officially claimed the top spot as the state’s most popular Halloween candy this year, according to sales data.
The peanut butter and chocolate classic edged out last year’s leader, M&M’s, followed by other favorites like Snickers Fun Size, Brach’s Classic Candy Corn, and Tootsie Caramel Apple Pops.
“Kroger is ready to help everyone with their festive plans this year, whether you’re stocking up for trick-or-treaters, planning your annual spooky-themed party, or just want treats for yourself,” said Mark Bruce, Head of Communications and Public Affairs for Kroger’s Columbus Division. “Stop by your local Kroger before Halloween to fill up your basket with extreme deals on Ohio’s favorite candy and treats for the entire family.”

Along with candy favorites, Kroger is offering hauntingly good deals and creative ideas for Halloween celebrations, including themed drinks and recipe pairings — from Kit Kats with Haunted Hot Chocolate to Twizzlers paired with Vampire Party Punch.
To help Ohioans prepare for trick-or-treat night, Kroger’s candy experts suggest keeping 1–3 fun-size candies per visitor and as many as 300 pieces for medium-sized neighborhoods. Shoppers can enjoy 33% off candy through October 21, as well as deals on pizzas, pumpkins, carving kits, and cosmetics.
Kroger also reminds customers that October 31 is the busiest pizza night of the year — and to avoid the “scary” delivery wait times, shoppers can grab Kroger Rising Crust pizzas for just $3.49 with digital coupons available from Oct. 22 to Nov. 2.
Customers can shop in-store, online, or through Kroger Pickup and Delivery, with additional savings available via the Boost by Kroger Plus membership.
