In a Truth Social post, President Donald J. Trump announced that Israel and Hamas have approved the first phase of his proposed peace plan, signaling that all hostages could be released shortly and Israeli troops would retreat to a mutually agreed line.

“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan,” Trump wrote. “This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. … This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America…”

Trump credited mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for helping broker the agreement. He also issued a stern warning to Hamas: failure to comply would result in “massive bloodshed.”

Hamas, in turn, confirmed on Friday that it would release all Israeli hostages — living or deceased — under the terms of Trump’s proposal. Senior officials from both sides met earlier this week in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to finalize details of the agreement.

Details such as timing, troop movement lines, and guarantees remain to be confirmed by negotiators.
