
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (Aug. 29, 2025) – The Chillicothe Police Department handled a busy slate of calls on Thursday, August 28, with officers responding to reports ranging from burglary and theft to domestic violence and warrants.
The day began around 4:49 a.m. when officers were dispatched to Columbus Avenue on a possible domestic dispute involving disorderly conduct. Later in the morning, police investigated two separate burglary reports — one on Adams Avenue and another on Ervin Avenue — both of which remain under investigation.
Other notable incidents included:
- Thefts and Fraud: Multiple theft complaints were reported throughout the city, including on West Main Street, North Bridge Street, and Medical Drive. Officers also investigated a fraud case on North Bridge Street.
- Domestic Violence: At 4:56 p.m., police responded to Carlisle Place where a juvenile reportedly struck her mother. The teen was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center on domestic violence charges.
- Obscenity Case: Detectives are continuing an investigation into alleged illegal images shared within the city after a complaint was filed earlier in the week.
- Trespassing: Incidents were reported on Yoctangee Parkway and at the Chillicothe Mall on North Bridge Street.
- Hit-Skip Crash: Officers investigated a hit-skip accident near North Paint Street just before 7 p.m.
- Warrants: Several warrant arrests were made during the day, including one served at the Ross County Jail.
In total, police documented 19 reports on August 28. Many of the cases remain under investigation.
