
CHILLICOTHE — The Chillicothe Police Department handled more than two dozen calls on Tuesday, August 19, ranging from trespassing complaints and thefts to warrant arrests and drug-related investigations.
- Trespassing: Around 2:44 a.m., officers were called to Walmart on River Trace Lane after a male refused to leave the property. Later in the day, another trespassing complaint was filed on North Bridge Street.
- Warrants: Several warrant services were conducted, including one on Orange Street and another on North High Street. At 8:59 a.m., police arrested 54-year-old Vollina Adkins at his Gilmore Street residence on a secret indictment charging two counts of gross sexual imposition. He was taken to the Ross County Jail.
- Traffic Stops & Violations: Officers issued citations throughout the day, including for running a red light, operating without a valid license, and driving under suspension. A vehicle accident at the Western Avenue KFC was also investigated.
- Thefts: Police responded to a theft from a motor vehicle on Madison Avenue and another reported theft from the Amoco/Valero gas station on North Bridge Street. Investigations remain ongoing.
- Disorderly Conduct: Officers were dispatched to Main and Bridge Street where a reportedly intoxicated individual was walking into the roadway, creating a risk of harm.
- Drug Investigations: Detectives opened investigations into suspected drug trafficking on both North Paint Street and Eastern Avenue.
- Domestic & Protection Order Violation: Officers responded to a domestic situation on South Sugar Street involving a reported violation of a protection order. That case is still under review.
- Other Reports: Police handled an unruly child complaint on West Fifth Street, a criminal mischief call at Tiffin Towers, and multiple non-criminal matters such as parking violations on Wade Street, where a vehicle was ultimately towed.
The department also reported serving Thomas Brown with a bench warrant at the Ross County Jail for failing to report to serve a 35-day sentence.
In total, officers logged 26 reports for the day.
