Circleville, OH — August 11, 2025 — Pickaway County Public Health is inviting residents to gather for Overdose Awareness Day – “Light the Way” on Thursday, August 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ted Lewis Park in Circleville.
The free, family-friendly event will honor lives lost to overdose, provide resources for those in recovery, and unite the community in reducing the stigma surrounding substance use.

“Overdose Awareness Day is about more than remembering those we’ve lost—it’s about building a stronger, more compassionate community,” said Tiffany Singer, PORT Coordinator and Public Information Officer at Pickaway County Public Health. “Our theme, ‘Light the Way,’ reflects our commitment to guiding one another toward healing, understanding, and support.”
Attendees can expect memorial displays, community resource tables, giveaways, live music from DJ Dray Stewart, and free food including hot dogs, fruit, chips, and drinks. Two bounce houses will also be available for children and families.
Local agencies, recovery organizations, and community partners will be on hand to share information, offer support, and connect attendees with services.
Overdose Awareness Day is observed globally each August to remember those who have died from overdose and to support those impacted by addiction.
