Circleville Police Respond to Range of Calls Throughout August 4

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (August 5, 2025) — Circleville Police were kept busy throughout Sunday night and Monday with a wide range of calls for service, from suspicious activity and traffic stops to reports of theft and a possible burglary.

According to the department’s daily call log, officers responded to 40 incidents beginning just after midnight on August 4 and continuing throughout the day.

Among the notable activity:

  • A suspicious person was reported on Wood Lane just after midnight. Officers checked the area and determined everything was okay.
  • Officers conducted multiple extra patrols in areas including North Court Street, East Franklin Street, US 23, and Atwater Avenue, most of which checked out without issue.
  • Around 1:48 a.m., a traffic stop on West Main Street resulted in a warning. Several other traffic stops later in the day, including one on Lewis Avenue, led to citations.
  • Emergency crews responded to a fire/EMS alarm drop on South Court Street at 2:49 a.m., which was handled on scene without transport. Another fire alarm was reported on West Ohio Street around 10:25 a.m.
  • Police investigated a theft in progress on East Ohio Street at 4:52 a.m. Property was seized or found during the call.
  • A report of property damage was taken on Lancaster Pike shortly after 5:30 p.m., and a burglary was reported late in the evening on West Main Street, though officers were unable to locate any suspects.
  • Officers also responded to trespassing and disturbance issues on North Court Street, and handled multiple encounters involving homeless individuals—including on Third Avenue, where a report was taken.

Calls also included vehicle repossessions, property releases, animal complaints, and found property, reflecting a steady day of community-focused police work.

Many incidents were resolved on scene or referred to other agencies for follow-up.
