CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A routine citizen contact on Ewing Street led to the arrest of a man wanted on an active warrant and the discovery of suspected drugs, according to Chillicothe Police.
On July 27, 2025, Officer Jonathan Davis reported observing Blake Long walking along Ewing Street. Knowing Long had an active warrant through the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Davis initiated contact.
According to the police report, when Davis approached and addressed him by name, Long responded, “My name’s not Blake, it’s Timmy,” attempting to provide a false identity. Officer Davis, who recognized Long from prior contacts and his booking photo, detained him on the spot.
During the arrest, Long allegedly claimed, “No I don’t [have a warrant], I am 17,” in another attempt to mislead the officer. A search of his belongings turned up a tied bag containing a substance that resembled methamphetamine in the front pocket of his bag. When asked about it, Long reportedly said, “That’s not meth, that’s candle wax bro.”
The substance, which reportedly had the consistency of wax but was packaged like narcotics, was seized and will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) for testing.
Blake Long was transported to the Ross County Jail, where he was booked on his active warrant (Case CRB2501362AB) and additionally charged with obstructing official business. He was advised of his Miranda rights and is scheduled to appear in court on the next available date.
The investigation remains ongoing pending lab results on the seized substance.
