Chillicothe Police Respond to Domestic Disputes, Thefts, and Warrants in Busy July 13 Shift

CHILLICOTHE, OH (July 14, 2025) — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of calls on Sunday, July 13, as officers dealt with domestic violence, thefts, warrants, and a reported sex offense throughout the city.

The day began just after midnight when officers were dispatched to a residence on East Main Street for a domestic disturbance involving disorderly intoxication. Less than 90 minutes later, a traffic stop on Columbus Street resulted in an arrest for equipment violations and driving without a license.

Throughout the morning and early afternoon, police responded to several incidents, including a disorderly conduct complaint on Vine Street, a custody dispute on Belleview Avenue, and a non-suspicious death at a residence on Eastern Avenue.

Later in the day:

  • A burglary was reported at a home on East 2nd Street.
  • Criminal mischief occurred on Washington Avenue, where an unknown male caused damage while knocking on a back door.
  • A sex offense investigation was launched following a report from Adena Medical Center, where officers were dispatched for an alleged rape involving a vulnerable victim.

At Roosters restaurant on North Plaza Boulevard, officers were called to investigate an unruly juvenile incident. Around the same time, another domestic violence case was reported on Walnut Hills Drive.

Warrant-related arrests also kept officers busy:

  • A warrant was executed for Tara Thompson, wanted for failure to appear on an assault charge.
  • Later, police picked up Austin Thery, who was transferred from Highland County on an outstanding warrant.

Other notable incidents from the day included a minor vehicle crash on East Water Street, a threats complaint at the Speedway on North Bridge Street, and a telecommunications harassment report late Sunday night.

In total, police recorded 18 case reports throughout the day. Several investigations remain ongoing.
