
CIRCLEVILLE, OH – OhioHealth Berger Hospital will initiate a phased reopening to patients starting tonight at 7:00 p.m. EDT, following a closure and evacuation prompted by smoke from an overheating pump, according to an updated statement released at 6:30 p.m. EDT on Thursday, June 19, 2025. The hospital has been closed since yesterday as staff and remediation experts worked to sanitize the facility and ensure safety.
The Emergency Department will resume operations tonight by 7:00 p.m. On Friday, June 20, inpatient services, scheduled provider office visits on the hospital campus, and the Quest lab will reopen. Patients with questions should contact their provider’s office. Hospital-based outpatient services will remain closed until further notice.
Patients with affected appointments will be notified via phone or MyChart to reschedule, with additional support available by calling 614-566-1111 for scheduling inquiries or 614-566-5708 for customer experience concerns.
