
CHILLICOTHE, OH — June 4, 2025 — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 27 separate incidents across the city on June 3, ranging from traffic violations and drug offenses to thefts, domestic disturbances, and a non-suspicious death.
Among the notable incidents:
- Drug Paraphernalia Arrest: Officers made an arrest during a traffic stop on Eastern Avenue around 12:40 a.m.
- Traffic Violations and Stops: Multiple drivers were cited throughout the day for infractions including speeding on Piatt Avenue, failing to obey traffic control devices, expired or fictitious plates, and improper display of registration. Several investigations remain ongoing.
- Domestic and Disorderly Conduct Calls: Police responded to calls on Lille Street and Schreiner Avenue related to domestic disturbances and intoxicated individuals causing potential harm.
- Thefts and Fraud: Investigations are underway following reports of theft from businesses, including Walmart and Rural King, and a forged check reported by Atomic Credit Union. Other larceny incidents were reported on Gilmore Street and E 5th Street, including a juvenile-related vehicle theft and missing person complaint.
- Crashes and Traffic Issues: A property damage crash occurred on E Main Street, while another incident involving failure to yield was logged on N Bridge Street.
- Welfare Check Leads to Non-Suspicious Death: Officers responded to a welfare check on South Walnut Street, where a death was reported. The circumstances were deemed non-suspicious.
- Juvenile Cases: Officers were dispatched to N Sugar Street regarding a missing person and an unruly juvenile complaint, and again to E 5th Street for a juvenile case involving a missing person, theft, and vehicle theft.
- Criminal Trespassing: Multiple complaints of trespassing were reported throughout the day, including at McDonald’s on N Bridge Street and other residential areas.
- Warrant Arrests: Two individuals were taken into custody on outstanding warrants following calls to Rural King and a late-night traffic stop on W Water Street.
The Chillicothe Police Department continues to investigate several of these cases and encourages residents to report suspicious activity or any information related to ongoing incidents.
