One Dead, Two Injured in Southern Ohio Crash

LOGAN – Two people were injured, and one person died after a head-on high-speed collision in Athens County on Tuesday.

According to a press release from OSP, troopers responded to a call for a crash on State Route 93 at approximately 3:31 p.m.

Cody Hatfield, 18, of Mcarthur, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze south on SR-93 when he drove across the center of the road, hitting a 2014 Mazda 3 head-on at high speed.

The Mazda had two people inside driver Pauline Skaggs, 75, of Logan. Mary Fidler, 88, also of Logan.

Fidler the passenger of the vehicle was killed and pronounced dead at the hospital

Skaggs was flown to Grant Medical for serious injuries

Hatfield was also flown to Grant with serious injuries.

OSP says that the crash is under investigation
