24th Annual “Earth Gathering” Festival Returns to Chillicothe: Celebrating Art, Music, and Nature

Ross County – The Chillicothe Art League hosts the 24th Annual “Earth Gathering” festival, a celebration of art, music, and nature, on the lawn of the Pump House Center for the Arts in Yoctangee Park. Featuring a lineup of local bands, artisan vendors, and family-friendly activities, the festival promotes Earth-friendly practices and community engagement.

Chillicothe’s Yoctangee Park will come alive with art, music, and eco-conscious festivities as the Chillicothe Art League presents the 24th Annual “Earth Gathering” festival on April 20th, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a rain date scheduled for Sunday, April 21st.

Held on the picturesque lawn of the Pump House Center for the Arts, the Earth Gathering is a cherished tradition in the community, offering a unique blend of juried art, live music, and Earth-friendly initiatives. Sponsored by the Chillicothe Art League and supported by the David Meade Massie Trust, the event serves as a free gift to the community, embodying a simple and natural approach to festivals.

Artists, musicians, and organizations from within a 100-mile radius of Chillicothe are invited to participate in the festival, showcasing their handcrafted creations ranging from jewelry, fiber art, and ceramics to paintings, sculptures, and more. Seven local and regional bands will grace the stage throughout the day, entertaining attendees with a diverse array of musical performances.

Among the featured musical acts are Toadstool Shadow, Hey Alveh, Gathering Stars, Hillbilly Chic, Sunshine Moonshine, and The Ark Band, each offering a unique sound and style to captivate audiences.

Food enthusiasts can indulge in a variety of culinary delights, including healthy chicken, beef, or veggie street tacos, quesadillas, side salads, and real fruit smoothies served by MANGOS Authentic Taco Truck from Waverly. R KITCHEN food truck from Chillicothe will also be onsite, offering a delectable menu for festival-goers to enjoy.

For those seeking refreshments, Two Roasting Joes/Livy Cakes will provide coffee and tea products, along with delicious desserts to satisfy any sweet tooth.

In addition to art and music, the Earth Gathering offers a host of engaging activities for visitors of all ages. Children can unleash their creativity in the Kidzart tent, where volunteers from the Chillicothe Art League and local high school art honor societies will assist with art projects. Sidewalk chalk drawing will also be available on a nearby basketball court.

Attendees are encouraged to explore the Chillicothe Art League’s 25th Annual Spring Open Exhibition, featuring over 90 pieces of art from local and regional artists. Furthermore, the Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library will showcase their Bookmobile, “The Bee,” offering books to check out and free WiFi access.

While enjoying the festivities, visitors can take advantage of the park’s amenities, including playgrounds, a skate park, and nearby downtown shops, restaurants, and taverns, all within walking distance.

As a reminder, pets are not permitted inside the festival area due to limited space. However, attendees can stop by the Earth Gathering booth near the stage to pick up event stickers and explore additional offerings from the Chillicothe Art League.
