Water Rescue Launched After Man Falls into Water in Ross County

ROSS – A water rescue may be needed after a man fell overboard in Paint Creek around 5:40 pm.

According to dispatch a man fell overboard fully clothed in jeans and a sweatshirt and attempted to swim to shore. According to the witness that called 911 he was doing fine and then he disappeared and they cannot find him.

Squads are heading to US-50 and Rapid Forge road to help with the man hunt.

A dive team and water rescue has been dispatched to the scene.

UPDATE 1#: Dive teams have declined to get into water due to water conditions. Several more units are on scene surrounding the lake. They have closed the road off in the area.

Update#2 Crews have suspended search until Monday morning.

Temperatures in the water still remain too cold for long term swimming at this time hypothermia can set in quickly.
