WANTED: Escaped Inmate from Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail

COLUMBUS – Nelsonville Police are asking for help in finding an escaped suspect that escaped out of Columbus and may travel back to the area.

According to police Kayla Marie Allbaugh is wanted by Nelsonville Police Department an are seeking the publics assistance in locating her.

Allbaugh was the center of a joint narcotics investigation between the Nelsonville Police Department and the Athens County Prosecutors Office since the Summer of 2020. On January 18th, 2021 Allbaugh was apprehended by NPD Officer Jones and booked into the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. Judge McCarthy placed a $100,000 bond with no 10% allowed on Allbaugh.

On the evening of January 19th employees of the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail seen Allbaugh hanging from a 2nd story balcony to which she then fell to the ground and alleged that she was injured. Kayla Allbaugh was transported to Grant Hospital in Columbus Ohio by employees of the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail and then left unsupervised at the Hospital, which allowed Allbaugh to check herself out.

As of January 21, 2021, two days since Allbaughs escape, the Nelsonville Police Department has not been notified or contacted by the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail regarding this matter. Nelsonville Police Department learned of the escape through a 3rd party notification.
