CIRCLEVILLE – The United Way of Pickaway County (UWPC) has issued the Pickaway Senior Center with its first quarter funding award in the amount of $3,026.25. The financial award is made possible as the result of the United Way’s campaign funding and was presented to the community action entity at the UWPC Board of Trustees meeting.

Specifically, the campaign donation specifically aids the Pickaway Senior Center in its outreach through the Meals on Wheels and Alzheimer’s Respite care programs. Through the Alzheimer’s Respite program, the center provides a 24/7 safe and caring option for caregivers in the county that provide full service supports for their loved one battling Alzheimer’s or Dementia. Additionally, the Meals on Wheels program brings nutritious meals to the doors of county seniors who are limited in mobility, are homebound, or lack transportation while fostering independence for family patriarchs and matriarchs.

Both Pickaway County Senior Center initiatives are grounded in values that align with the UWPC’s locally-organized funding streams dedicated entirely to education, income, health, and safety net assistance.

The United Way of Pickaway County INC (UWPC) is a locally incorporated non-profit organization founded in 1955. Governed by a regional board of trustees, the organization seeks to further county lives through fundraising, aggregating revenue streams, and as an intentional community partner. UWPC is an extension of the Live United movement by extending opportunity to the residents and community in which the entity serves. Learn more at pickuw.org.
