Registration is now open for the third annual Josias Rodriguez 5K Run/Walk at Ohio Christian University. The event is set to begin at 8 a.m. Oct. 3, with proceeds benefiting the Josias Rodriguez Ministry Scholarship Fund.

The event is held in honor of Josias Noel Rodriguez, a 19-year-old sophomore in the traditional program whose sudden loss in 2013 deeply impacted the OCU community.

A man after God’s own heart, Josias was an incredible friend to many on campus and was known as a shining example of Christian character. The Run for Rodriguez 5k Run/Walk was established to celebrate his life. Come enjoy the beauty of OCU’s campus and the surrounding area with an invigorating run or a scenic walk.

All proceeds from the 5K go to the Josias Rodriguez Ministry Scholarship Fund, which was established to preserve the legacy of this special young man. This scholarship is awarded each year to a ministerial student in need of financial assistance. Your participation in this event will honor the life and legacy of Josias Rodriguez and also impact the lives of future students seeking to further their education at Ohio Christian University.

Online registration prior to the event is preferred. If you choose to register day of the event, please make checks payable to Ohio Christian University. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Oct. 3 on campus at OCU.

Single registration is $20 until Oct. 2 or $25 the day of the event. For students, the cost is $12 by Oct. 2 or $15 the day of the event.

All participants will receive a t-shirt, along with food and beverages. Prizes will be given out to top five male and top five female 5K finishers.
