Barbara and William Jake Adams

William Jake Adams, age 80, of Kingston, passed from this life on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at home, following an extended illness.

Jake was born May 17, 1937, to Elijah and Pearlie Jane Adams.

On Oct. 16, 1958, he married Barbara J. Likens. who preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Pam (Tom) Ramsey; a son, William Mark Adams; grandchildren, Jacob (Crystal) Conaway, Grace Ramsey, Lindsey and Logan Adams; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Ely Conaway; a sister, Gladys Adams; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first grandchild, Myranda Conaway; his brothers, Earsel, Jewell and Eugene; and his sisters, Opal, Lucybelle, Madge and Mae.

Jake was a member of the Kingston Living Water Church of Christ in Christian Union and was a DuPont retiree.

He will be remembered for many things, but most of all his quiet gentle ways and his love for his family. Jake loved playing his guitar, especially with his Indiana nephews. He was happiest when he could make a little joke to bring a smile from whoever he met.

2 Timothy 4: 7-8 “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will award to me on that day and not only me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

There will be no calling hours; however, the family welcomes you to a memorial service at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Kingston Living Waters Church, 20 Third St., Kingston. A dinner will be served following the service. Friends and family are welcome.
