Joan Ruth Lucas, 91, of Circleville, passed away on June 16, 2017.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1925, in Circleville, to Chester D. and Ruth N. (Morris) Wertman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, John, Chet, Darroll, Beverly and Donnie Wertman.
She was a 1941 graduate of Washington Township High School and was their Miss Pumpkin Show Representative.
She was an avid bowler, and she loved gardening and antiques.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Frank) Welsh and Jennifer (Gary) Combs; grandchildren, Richard (LeRosa) Welsh, Melissa (Brad) Williams, Kelcey (John Hummell) Combs, Bryant (Marie) Welsh and Jed (Paige) Combs; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Welsh and Kylie Williams; sisters-in-law, Carol and Marian Wertman; special nephew, Gary Lee Wetman; several nieces and nephews; and by special friends, Thommie Allured and Louise Matthews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Dr. Doyne Wiggins officiating. Burial will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
