10 earn 4-H scholarships

4-H programs across the state support youth members continuing their education. This year the Pickaway County 4-H committee awarded a total of 10 scholarships to help our members pay for their future college endeavors.

Six Pickaway County 4-H members received $800 scholarships for their hard work and dedication to the program. Recipients of the scholarships received their award at their respective high school senior awards program.

  • Maria Shappert is the daughter of Stephen and Rhonda Shappert of Commercial Point. She is a graduate of the Ohio Virtual Academy and will be continuing her education at Ohio Christian University with a major in Psychology.
  • Macrae Conrad is the son of Greg and Judy Conrad of New Holland. Macrae is graduate of Westfall High School and will continuing his education at Methodist University, majoring Business Administration with specialization in PGA Professional Golf Management.
  • Taylor Thomas is graduating for Teays Valley High School. She is the daughter of Andy and Tracey Thomas of Commercial Point. Taylor plans to attend college with a major in Psychology.
  • Bryce Beckman is the daughter of Mallory Beckman of Ashville. Bryce is a senior at Teays Valley High School and will be attending The Ohio State University majoring in Biology.
  • Keith Alan Nair is the son of Carrie and Joe Curtis of Circleville. Alan is senior at Westfall High School. He plans to attend college with a major in Biology/Pre Med.
  • Jared Minor is graduating from Westfall High School. He is the son of Jeff and Gwen Minor. Jared plans to attend The Ohio State University to major in Agricultural Engineering.

Four Pickaway County 4-H members were awarded $400 scholarships for their diligence to program. These seniors were awarded their scholarships at their respective high school senior award program.

  • Kellen Hedges is daughter of Hellen Pritchard and Kelly Hedges of Ashville. Kellen is a senior at Teays Valley High School and plans to attend college at Ohio Christian University with a major in Criminal Justice.
  • Kenton Dresbach is the son of Eric and Sereana Dresbach of Circleville and a 2017 graduate of Logan Elm High School. Kenton plans to attend The Ohio State University to major in Biochemical Engineering.
  • Christina Winter is the daughter of Jim and Sharon Winter of Ashville. She is a graduate of Teays Valley High School and plans to attend Columbus State Community College to major in Veterinary Technology.
  • Samual Allen is the son of Elizabeth and Jeffrey Allen. He is a graduate of Teays Valley High School and plans to attend Columbus State Community College with a major in Logistics.

Congratulations to these 10 outstanding 4-H members, and good luck on your future endeavors.
