May 1

– Officers responded to a hold-up alarm at Tim Hortons on U.S. Route 23. The alarm was accidental, and the scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of West Water Street called 911 to report a male was trying to break into her front bedroom window. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area. The same resident called 911 several hours later to report someone was attempted to break into her house. The officer advised there was no burglary in progress, and the caller requested extra patrol in the area.

– A resident in the 400 block of East Main Street reported someone slashed the tires of her boyfriend’s pickup truck. A report was taken on criminal damaging.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident on private property in the 300 block of Meadow Drive. No injuries were reported.

– A caller reported tools and equipment had been stolen from his work site in the 400 block of East Main Street. A report was taken on theft.

– A report was taken on a found credit card in the 600 block of East Mound Street.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office requested officers check a residence in the 300 block of Logan Street for a vehicle involved in a hit-skip accident. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A resident in the 600 block of South Court Street reported someone had stolen her credit card and used it. A report was taken on fraud.

– Officers advised a known male subject to stay away from the PICCA building on East Ohio Street.

– An officer requested a report for a possible scam, and an informational report was taken.

– An officer responded to reports of a male with a temporary protection order against him driving by a residence in the 400 block of Faye Avenue.

– Officers responded to reports of a property damage accident on private property on Lancaster Pike at East Main Street.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident on Lancaster Pike at Pontious Lane.

– A caller reported her vehicle had been struck sometime during the day while parked in the 100 block of North Court Street. She advised she would check with her insurance company and call back later if a report was needed.

– A caller in the 200 block of East Mill Street requested an officer to check a wire down in the area.

– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported someone had been inside her residence while she was away. A report was taken on burglary.

– A report was taken on found property after a resident came to the police station to turn over a debit card found at Fifth Third Bank on East Main Street.

– A resident in the 200 block of Walnut Street reported her house had been broken into. A report was taken on burglary.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Rumpkee on Island Road. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 300 block of East High Street reported several juveniles were trespassing on his property. The juveniles were advised.

– Officers responded to reports of two disabled vehicles, one at the West Mound Street exit and one on the U.S. Route 23 ramp for southbound traffic.

– A caller requested an officer at the Duke and Duchess station to assist in an argument over a purchase. The officer advised it was a misunderstanding, but the officer then transported the caller to the Berger Hospital emergency room.

– Charles Huffer was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication in the 100 block of Pontious Lane after a 911 caller reported he was intoxicated and assaulted her boyfriend.

– A caller reported a silver minivan swerved and tried to hit him near the railroad tracks on South Court Street, then yelled at him as they passed. Officers were advised to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

– A resident in the 100 block of East Main Street reported someone had broken into her apartment while she was away. A report was taken on burglary.

May 2

– A resident in the 500 block of East Union Street reported her neighbors had been arguing all day. The subjects were advised arrests would be made if officers were called out again.

– A resident in the 200 block of Walnut Street reported someone was trying to use his identity in Las Vegas. A report was taken on theft.

– Stacey A. Bush Jr. of Ashville was arrested at Berger Hospital for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he came to the police station to report he had been attacked by a male subject at Main Street Pub. While at the hospital, medics called and requested officers because he was reportedly causing problems in the ER. A report was taken on assault.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol requested an officer assist with a vehicle on the lot of Speedway on North Court Street that was reported stolen from Columbus.

– Officers took a report on a missing 14-year-old male who did not come home overnight in the 500 block of East Union Street. The caller later reported the juvenile had returned home, and he was removed from the LEADS system.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 400 block of Imperial Court. The alarm company canceled the call.

– Officers responded to a property damage accident in front of CVS on East Main Street. One of the subjects later called and requested a squad at his residence for rib pain he believed caused by the accident.

– A caller reported a reckless driver coming into town on U.S. Route 22 westbound. The vehicle was located, and the driver checked OK. She advised she was having mechanical problems with the power steering.

– A resident in the 300 block of Northridge Road reported coming home to find a male subject in his home. The male reportedly knocked him down as he ran from the house. Officers were unable to locate the subject, and a report was taken.

– A resident in the 1100 block of Atwater Avenue reported a relative had been taking belongings from her apartment. The caller advised she would confirm with family members it was not a misunderstanding before filing a report.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office responded as mutual aid for an activated alarm at Taco Bell on U.S. Route 23. Deputies advised it was a false alarm.

– A caller from the Castle Inn reported she believed a vehicle had struck a canine in the 600 block of South Court Street. Officers were advised the dog was transported to the vet by a private vehicle. A report was taken on a traffic accident.

– A caller at Discount Grocery Outlet on South Pickaway Street reported someone had broken into her vending machines at the location. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 800 block of Maplewood Avenue reported two males came from under the U.S. Route 23 overpass walking through her yard and exchanged words with her son. Officers were unable to locate the subjects but advised the resident to call back if they returned.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Dynahoe on East Main Street. The alarm company canceled the call.

– A resident reported finding a bag with various items in it in the west parking lot of the Presbyterian Church on East Mound Street. A report was taken on found property.

– A resident in the 300 block of East Ohio Street reported she was assaulted by a female relative on Faye Avenue while picking up her child from the residence. Officers were unable to locate the relative. A report was taken on domestic violence.

– A resident in the 500 block of Gumm Place reported she was walking outside and found a syringe on the ground. Officers located and disposed of the item.

– A Lancaster resident requested an officer stand-by in the 100 block of Watt Street to retrieve a video game from the resident there. While at the residence, a vehicle was identified with an expired registration, but Fletcher’s could not tow it without damaging the vehicle. A parking citation was issued to the owner of the vehicle.

– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street requested to speak with an officer about her options for filing a harassment complaint due to a known party repeatedly driving past her house making comments. Extra patrol was requested in the area, and the caller was referred to Common Pleas Court regarding a protection order.

– Officers responded to reports of loud music in the 200 block of Logan Street. The subjects were advised of the complaint.

May 3

– Earl R. Shaffer Sr. of Ashville was arrested at Main Street Pub on a warrant from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office for a violation of probation. He was transported to the Pickaway/Ross county line for custody exchange.

– A resident in the 400 block of Watt Street reported he was being threatened, and a friend “put his hands on him” and he would like to file charges. Officers advised there was no sign of assault, and no report was taken by request.

– Officers responded to reports of a residence in the 200 block of Lewis Road that appeared to be vacant but side doors appeared to be damaged. Officers determined the damage was not recent, and the home was secured.

– A resident in the 800 block of Maplewood Avenue reported her neighbor was calling her names and threatening her. A report was taken on disorderly conduct.

– Officers responded to a hold-up alarm at Taco Bell on U.S. Route 23. The alarm was accidental, and the scene checked OK.

– A 911 caller reported a brush fire spreading to the rear of the mobile home in the 200 block of Timberline Drive. The fire department handled the scene.

– An anonymous caller reported juveniles in the area of Tower Court setting off fireworks. Officers reported the parents advised their children had some small, hand-held fireworks, but they would not let them have any more.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Mound Street reported someone stole her son’s bicycle and scooter. A report was taken on theft.

– Officers responded to reports of a property damage accident on Fairview Blvd. at Lancaster Pike.

– An anonymous caller reported a female subject kept standing in the 300 block of Town Street meeting with different cars. Officers were unable to locate any suspicious activity. While checking the incident, the officer was advised of a pit bull running loose and attempted to contact the owner. The dog was retrieved and returned home, and the owner was cited for a loose canine.

– A caller reported a residence with an open garage door in the 400 block of Northridge Road. The door was secured, and the house checked secure. A door hanger was left for the residents.

– A resident on Claire Court reported an activated carbon monoxide detector at the residence. The fire department advised a leak was detected, and the homeowner was advised to leave the premises until it was repaired.

– A caller reported a vehicle westbound on U.S. Route 22 East had occupants throwing beer cans out the windows. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A caller reported someone had taken money from his wallet in the 400 block of Watt Street. A report was taken on theft.

– A 911 caller reported a suspicious vehicle with known subjects in the parking lot at the Duke and Duchess station on East Main Street. Two knives were recovered at the scene. A report was taken on found property.

– Officers responded to reports of a property damage accident on private property at Kroger on Lancaster Pike.

– Extra patrol was requested in the alleys south of Edison from South Pickaway Street due to increased traffic through those alleys. Information was obtained.

– A resident in the 300 block of Logan Street reported someone had stolen money from his son. Officers were unable to locate the son, but the girlfriend was advised not to return to the property.

– A 911 caller requested information on requesting a well-being check on her daughter who lives out of state. The caller was advised to call the non-emergency number. The resident then called back to report she was able to contact the subject in question, and she checked OK. The call was canceled on scene.

– An anonymous caller reported the driver of a vehicle in the 200 block of East Mill Street appeared to be under the influence of something and drove up onto the curb. The vehicle suffered right front damage on the quarter panel. Officers were unable to locate the driver, who left the scene prior to arrival.

– An employee from McDonald’s on South Court Street reported a intoxicated female had been asked to leave the restaurant and was now in the parking lot trying to get into vehicles. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
