Geneva E. Detty, 85, died at 8:08 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Westmoreland Place.
She was born May 27, 1931, in Ross County, to the late Larkin and Mamie Kathryn (Leasure) Pritchard.
On April 28, 1948, she married Marvin L. Detty, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2008.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn (Michael) McCorkle of Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin (Patricia) Detty Jr. of Columbus; grandchildren, Kimberly (Robert) Dement of Chillicothe, Leslie (Eric) Cox of Chillicothe and Lucas Detty of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Kayla Dement and Olivia Cox; a sister, Betty (Dale) Gaines of Circleville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Beeman, Dana, James and Donald Pritchard; and a sister, Cleo Merriman.
Geneva was a member of Voice of Hope Church. She was a proud homemaker who enjoyed reading and loved being at the beach.
The family would like to thank the staff of Westmoreland Place for their care.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Chillicothe, with Pastor John Karlson and Elder Larry Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Haller’s.
