Norman E. “Beecher” Poling, 81, of Amanda, died January. 11, 2017, at his residence.

He was born June 14, 1935, in Hocking County, the son of the late Theodore and Mildred (Peck) Poling.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Carpenters Local 200.

He is survived by his wife, Norma (Nungester) Poling; children, Dianna Poling, Mitchell (Beth) Poling, Roger Poling, Tina (Wayne) Zeimer, Carla (Larry) Sharp and Steven (Christina) Poling; 18 grandchildren, Heather (Jeremy Nelson) Poling, Miles, Zach, Harley, Sam and Chase Poling, Rachel (Nick) Maynard, Ashley (Chris) Shoup, Nick Poling, Summer (Tom) Sisterman, Brandi (Brandon) Sparkman, David Zeimer, Cody, Cassidy and Shiane Sharp, Shelby, Jessica and Tyler Poling; 11 great-grandchildren, Clinton, Hailey, Klutch, Sophie, Jackson, Hayden, Kolton, Kennedy, Madison, Tucker and Charli; siblings, Delbert (Arlene) Poling, Gerald “Pete” (Bobbi) Poling, Violet Thompson, Donna Swackhammer, Wanda Johnson and Janet Amerine; special friends, Joyce Marioth, Larry Howell and Bob Smith; and niece, Robin Poling.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville, with Pastor Ronald Goodling Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
