Gerald L. Lowe

Gerald L. Lowe, of Stoutsville, passed away at age 68 of complications from a severe case of pneumonia. He died in Tampa, Florida, on Jan. 28, 2016, while visiting family.

Born at White Cross Hospital in Columbus, he served in the Marine Corps from 1966 to 1972. He fought in the Vietnam War and will have a military burial at a date yet to be announced.

Gerald was a long time employee at Western Electric/Lucent Technologies for over 32 years on East Broad Street. He retired from the company and moved from Columbus to a small farmhouse in the country where he lived out his retirement with his beloved dog, Sampson.

He loved to fish in his pond with his grandsons, watch NASCAR racing on TV, and he was a wonderful dad and grandfather. He will be truly missed by everyone.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Ross Lowe; and his brother, James R. Lowe.

He is survived by his mother, Frieda (Foor) Lowe; brothers, Larry Lee Lowe and Robert Allen Lowe; and his sisters, Mary Jo Lowe and Judith Ann Burton.

Gerald is survived by four children of his own, Lora Leri, Sandy, Jerry Lowe and Felicia. He has seven wonderful grandchildren, many now young adults, and a legacy that would make anyone proud: Brandon, Kain Lager, Cassie, Jerry Dean Lowe, Samuel, Andy and Katelynn.

Gerald will be laid to rest in the Lowe family plot at Jersey Universalist Church Cemetery, 13134 Worthington Rd., Pataskala, in Jersey Township, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the Lowe family requests that donations for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, PO Box 555193, Camp Pendleton, CA 92055, would be greatly appreciated.
