Perry County OH- Citizen Complaints Results in Drug Raid and Drug House CLOSED

Perry County OH- On Monday – July 27, 2020 – narcotics detectives with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force (CODE TF) and deputies with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence of 402 East Walnut Street in Shawnee. The search warrant was obtained after multiple citizen complaints had been reported to law enforcement and the Shawnee Mayor’s Office by concerned citizens. As a result of Monday’s raid, 37yr old Gerald “Gary” Hedges Jr was arrested on a felony count involving the trafficking of heroin. At the time of his arrest, Hedges was found with more drugs on his person. Several other people were found in the home, they were all interviewed by detectives and released. One (1) other person was arrested on an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Hocking County. A teenage child was found in the home at the time of the raid and the Perry County Children Services was notified and are investigating.

The homeowner was placed on notice that further drug activity occurring at this residence may result in the forfeiture of their property and the potential of criminal charges being filed against them.

On Tuesday – July 28, 2020 – Hedges appeared for a bond hearing in the Perry County Municipal Court and was given a $10,000 @ 10% bond of which he posted and was released. His case is pending a preliminary hearing slated for today.
