Ohio Woman Escapes Abductor By Jumping From Vehicle on Interstate

AKRON – Deputies arrested a 55-year old Canton man after hes been accused of abducting and attacking a woman who escaped by jumping out of his vehicle on the interstate.

According to Sheriff’s office on November 24, 2020, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls in regards to a female with a head injury at a gas station in the City of Green.

Sheriff’s deputies responded and located the female. She had a severe head injury. The female reported she had been forced into a vehicle by a man she knew as “Mike.” He subsequently threatened her and struck her with a knife. The victim jumped out of the moving vehicle on Interstate 77 near Massillon Road.

The victim then walked to the gas station in Green. The victim was transported to Aultman Hospital by the Green Fire Department for injuries sustained during the incident.

The Sheriff’s Detective was able to identify “Mike” as George Snow. Snow was located a short time later by deputies. Snow had the knife previously described by the victim in his pocket. George W. Snow, age 55 of Canton was arrested and charged with Abduction (F-2) and Felonious Assault (F-2). He was transported to the Summit County Jail.
