WILLIAMSPORT – An accident occurred around 2:45 on Keyes Rd in Williamsport when the driver of a 1996 Ford F-150 lost control of his vehicle left the road on the right side of the roadway and struck multiple objects including several trees and a large rock before coming to a stop.

According to the witnesses on scene who was in the front lawn of the residence located at the crash, she said that the driver lost control when he went around a small bend in the road and struck a telephone pole. She said that instead of the truck slowing down she heard the engine rev and the truck still traveling on the lawn of the residence hit a large rock and went airborne.

“The truck hit the gas again in the air,” said the witness, “then it hit a large tree in the front yard that deflected the truck away from the home, and then hit another large tree coming to rest there.”

The witness and her family immediately called 911 and checked on the victim, at first they said they couldn’t find the driver and thought he had been ejected but found him on the floorboard of the truck almost under the desk. He was unconscious but breathing the witnesses told Sciotopost.

Pickaway County Sheriff said that the crash is under investigation and they cannot rule out drug/alcohol at this time. Deputies did report that driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and may have also contributed to the continuation of the accident.

The driver was transported by Williamsport and Deercreek EMS, to Berger with some unknown injuries. Southwest Pickaway Fire responded to accident, and Pickaway County Sheriff was on scene.
