Joseph W. Benbow, 66, of Cuyahoga Falls, died 2:33 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Summa Akron City Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born January 23, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Ford William “Bill” and Gloria Schaefer Benbow, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are his brother, Ford S. “Biff” (Evelyn) Benbow of Anacortes, WA; niece, Lisa (Richard) Adams of Shiloh, OH; nephew, Brian William (Amanda) Benbow and their daughter, Caley of Nashport, OH; cousin, June Johnson of Wilmington, OH.

He was a graduate of Columbus Northland High School, Columbus State Community College with A.A.S. degree in Dental Laboratory Technology and attended the University of Akron.

He loved Baseball from a young age as batboy for the Yankee Farm Team in Columbus and later played on the 1971 University of Akron Baseball team. He loved being active at Dr. Ford C. Benbow’s dental office in Chillicothe. He loved outdoor walks with his loyal Retriever, Hank.

Family and close friends are invited to gather and share their experiences at the WARE FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe, Ohio from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017.

A procession will leave the WARE FUNERAL HOME at 11:15 a.m. to the Grandview Cemetery graveside in Chillicothe for Family and close friends to offer their individual silent prayers. Subsequently, Family and close friends may leave the graveside as they feel appropriate.
