July 7, 2019
Deputies responded to a Goat Run Honey Fork Rd. residence for a domestic argument. No violence or threats occurred.***
July 7, 2019
Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash on SR 180. The vehicle lost control, went off the right side of the roadway striking the culvert and continuing on coming to rest after striking a tree. ***
July 8, 2019
Deputies responded to a SR 327 residence for a theft complaint. The victim told deputies that overnight that lawnmowers and gasoline from their vehicle was stolen. Deputies processed the scene for evidence. Evidence collected will be submitted to the BCI crime lab for analysis. ***

Deputies responded to a Buffalo Rd. residence for a dog theft complaint. The victim told deputies that their dog had been taken from the ballpark in Laurelville on June 30th. The victim called the office later and told deputies that they found who had the dog and were going to recover it that evening. ***

Deputies received a complaint of a stolen vehicle from a Carbon Hill residence. The case remains under investigation. ***

Deputies responded to Hide-Away-Hills for a medical emergency. ***

A Carbon Hill resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of their wallet while exercising at the Hocking County Fairgrounds. The victim told deputies that someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole the wallet. They told deputies that they didn’t see anyone suspicious. ***
July 8, 2019
Deputies were requested by Ohio Adult Parole Authority to assist in locating and arresting Christian J. Townsend, 18, Haydenville for a probation violation. Townsend was located at a residence on Wandling Rd. and taken into custody. While being taken into custody for the probation violation, deputies found what is believed to be methamphetamine and a prescription pill that fell from his waistband. Townsend was charged with Possession of Drugs, F5 and the probation violation and transported to the SEORJ. ***

Deputies responded to a Rauber Rd. residence for an assault complaint. After investigation the investigation was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review. While at a Rauber Rd. residence, a resident of Ohio Ave. reported to deputies that a firearm had been stolen from this residence allegedly during a burglary that had occurred a few days earlier, but hadn’t been reported. The victim told deputies that they were storing the firearm there. ***

Deputies responded to a Clapper Hollow Rd. residence for a medical emergency. ***

Deputies were dispatched to a Cherry Alley Murray City residence for a missing person. Deputies entered the person in NCIC as missing and began an investigation. The person later returned home safe. ***

Deputies responded to a Rauber Rd. residence for a domestic violence complaint. After investigation, deputies arrested Richard Hixon, 23, Logan for domestic violence and assault. Hixson was transported to the SEORJ. ***

Deputies responded to a business on Klump Rd. for a burglary complaint. Deputies processed the scene for evidence. Evidence collected will be sent to the BCI crime lab for analysis. ***

Deputies responded to a Klump Rd. business for a burglary complaint. Deputies collected evidence to submit to the BCI crime lab. The case remains under investigation. ***
July 11, 2019
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on SR 278 for a marked lanes violation. Deputies identified the driver as Eric J. Barron, 29, Nelsonville. Barron had an active warrant for his arrest. A passenger, Joshua A. Farley, 35, Malta, OH was arrested for a warrant from Lancaster Police. He was turned over to Lancaster Police. Deputies additionally found suspected narcotics and paraphernalia inside the vehicle which will be submitted to the BCI crime lab for analysis and potential future indictment. ***
July 11, 2019
Deputies responded to an Adams Ave. residence for a criminal mischief complaint. The victim told deputies that someone had shot their front window with a bb gun. ***

A Nelsonville resident reported to deputies that while his vehicle was broken down on SR 312, someone stole the contents of the vehicle.
