An Enterprise-Iles Rd. resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a theft. The case is under investigation.***

Deputies responded to a medical emergency in Hide-Away-Hills. HCEMS transported. ***

A Parkway Drive resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a fraudulent check scam. The victim received a FEDEX package that contained a check in their name and a letter with instructions to purchase money orders with the checks and keep the rest of the money as payment. This type of scam is fairly common and always results in the person using the check to be responsible for the money. The Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who receives anything “out of the blue” or suspicious to contact the Sheriff’s Office. ***

Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at Lost Hollow Campground. After investigation, deputies arrested Christopher J. Hayman, 47, Lancaster for domestic violence and assault. He was transported to the SEORJ. ***

Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash on Hock Hocking Drive. Jonathan R. Stevens lost control of his vehicle striking a utility pole. Deputies cited Stevens for failure to control. ***

Deputies responded to a Homer Ave. residence for a medical emergency. Deputies transported the person to O’Blennes Memorial Hospital for evaluation. ***

Deputies responded to a SR 93 business for a theft complaint. The case remains under investigation. ***

Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a Haydenville Rd. residence. After investigation, deputies arrested Gabriel Eddy, 44, Haydenville and charged him with domestic violence and assault. He was transported to the SEORJ. ***

July 20, 2019
Deputies observed a vehicle on Hunter St. operating in a reckless manner and squealing tires. Deputies attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle fled committing several more traffic violations. The vehicle stopped at a Weldy Ave. residence, exited the vehicle and ran into the residence. While waiting on a search warrant to enter the residence, Meleah D. Inboden, 35, Logan, arrived at the scene. Inboden was asked several times to move to a safer location and to stop shining a light into deputy’s eyes, but she refused. Inboden was arrested and charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Once the search warrant was obtained, deputies entered the residence and arrested Kyle G. Peppers, 34, Logan and charged him with Failure to comply with the order or signal of a peace officer, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, failure to reinstate, reckless operation and traffic control device. Both were transported to the SEORJ. ***

Deputies responded to a Snowden St. Murray City residence for a theft complaint. ***

Deputies responded to an Old McArthur Rd. residence for a sex offense. The case remains under investigation. ***

Deputies responded to a South Blvd. residence where the resident who called told deputies that they had shot a red fox that appeared on his property and that the fox appeared to be ill. Deputies notified ODNR game protector. ***

HCSO received a complaint of an erratic driver on U.S. 33. Deputes located the vehicle on U.S. 33 at SR 664 and conducted a traffic stop after observing a traffic violation. Upon contact with the driver, deputies saw major damage to the right side of the vehicle. The driver told deputies that a semi-truck had hit him at U.S. 33 and SR 595. Deputies conducted field sobriety testing and arrested Ryan C. Cooper, 22, Columbus, OH for DUI. Cooper tested .138 on the BAC. A passenger in the vehicle, Adam J. Wukie, 22, Elyria, OH was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication. Both were transported to the SEORJ. ***

July 21, 2019
Deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Morris Rd. Upon the deputy’s arrival at the residence, deputies heard a large crashing sound and a vehicle from a pole barn crashed through the rear door. The driver of the stolen vehicle crashed through several gates and fences and drove through a field. Deputies were able to identify the suspect. Charges and a request for a warrant have been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office. The case remains under investigation. ***

Deputies responded to a Webb Rd. residence for a complaint of domestic violence. After investigation, deputies arrested Fredrick A. Groff Jr., 43 Logan and charged him with domestic violence and assault and transported him to the SEORJ. ***

Deputies investigated a single vehicle crash on SR 595 where a deer ran into the path of a vehicle. ***
