Hocking County OH- The Logan-Hocking School District released the statement below regarding the extension of their remote learning program.

“LHSD to extend district-wide remote learning until January 11: https://conta.cc/33GoV3n

Dear Logan-Hocking School District Community,

Thank you for your cooperation during this pause from in-person learning for the safety of our students, staff and community. The Logan-Hocking School District, in collaboration with the Hocking County Health Department, has continued to monitor the Covid-19 situation on a district, local and state level.

Due to concerns about the continued prevalence of Covid-19 in our community, LHSD will continue under the remote learning platform until Friday, December 18, when we break for the holidays. At this time, the plan is to continue with remote learning Tuesday, January 5 – Friday, January 8 and then resume in-person learning on Monday, January 11, as the situation with Covid-19 permits.

Updated information regarding the usage of the Chieftain Center, extra curricular and co-curricular activities will be communicated in the near future. We will be working with coaches and advisors to develop a plan for safely resuming these activities.

The decision to extend remote learning was made due to the continued increase in the number of COVID-19 related cases in our community and the number of students and staff who are still in quarantine. We will monitor this ongoing situation in the upcoming weeks.

All students are required to attend class remotely and complete assignments each day. Please contact your child’s principal if you have additional questions about remote learning and expectations.

We must all continue to practice measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Continue to wear a mask when in public settings or around others, follow healthy hand hygiene and practice social distancing. Stay home when you feel sick.

We appreciate each and every one of our students, staff, and families for their continued cooperation. Please enjoy the holiday season and remember that each of our actions can and will impact our ability to resume in-person learning moving forward.

Sincerely,

The Logan Hocking Board of Education
and Monte Bainter, Superintendent
