USA – New technology sometimes solve problems in ways we some of us never thought of. This idea comes from a company called GPS Smartsole. These special insoles use GPS and cellular technology to track the person wearing them. A special app lets you use your phone or computer to find the persons location.

These insoles could be used for several different applications from Alzheimer’s, dementia, children with special needs, people with brain injuries, or people who are at risk of wandering.

The technology is water resistant, hidden, but requires charging once a day and needs a 2g cellular coverage. The reason for the gps hidden in the soles of shoes is that loved ones dont forget their shoes when they go out.

The device costs 299 dollars and service is between 14.95 per month and 24.98 per month. Some medical insurance companies do cover the item.
