CINCINNATI OH – It has been announced that the Bengals will be benching quarterback Andy Dalton. This decision will end his nine season run as starter. The Bengals plan to start developing rookie Ryan Finley as Dalton’s potential long-term replacement.
Dalton has led the Bengals to five straight playoff appearances from 2011-2015 but the Bengals couldn’t get the postseason win. Dalton has one more year left of his current contract, the owner Mike Brown said before the start of the current season that how well Dalton performed would determine his future with the team.
This year so far has been bad for the Bengals with a 0-8 season, which is the first time in 11 years. This big change is the first significant roster change under first year coach, Zac Taylor.
It was confirmed by fourth round pick Ryan Finley, that he will start against the Ravens in Week 10
