Breaking: Emergency Squads in Route to Law Enforcement Stop, Suspect Swallowed Drugs

PICKAWAY – Emergency squads are heading to Loves’ Gas station on US-23 in Pickaway county for a suspect that has swallowed a large amount of drugs.

According to dispatch, a female suspect during a traffic stop by the Pickaway sheriff’s office swallowed about 9 grams of heroin.

Emergency crews who were currently at Berger Hospital headed directly to the scene to pick her up for transport.

A overdose of heroin a opioid made from morphine can depresses heart rate and breathing to such an extent that a user cannot survive without medical help. Naloxone or Narcan can eliminate all signs of opioid intoxication to reverse an opioid overdose.
