Amy Acton Says 40% or More Will Get COVID-19 in Ohio

OHIO – “704 confirmed cases is only the tip of the Iceberg, with our limited testing in Ohio,” said Amy Acton Ohio Department of Health, “people will get sick with this virus and not need to go to the hospital.”


Acton talked about the 704 cases in Ohio, and she said that they updated the website to the number of ICU admissions because that will be very important in the oncoming weeks. Age Ranges from 1-94 with a median age being 51 in the mid range in Ohio in the 40-50s. 47% have been males and 53% have been females, and 16% of the positives have been from health care workers.

Acton said that 40% in some models will get this and other models say up to 55%, “This is the once in a generation virus, this is history in the making. We are just trying to get about 80% of this right. I am happy of the decisions we have made in Ohio for reducing the curve.”

Acton continued to insist that people should stay home and practice social distancing at this time.

Deaths have been from the following counties 10 – Cuyahoga (2), Erie (1), Franklin (2), Gallia (1), Lucas (1), Miami (1), Stark (2).
